As mentioned in previously Kalk Bay Modern will be featuring over 20 ceramic artists for the upcoming Sculpture and Ceramic Exhibition on 4th July 2012. Today we'll continue by introducing a few more big names in the South African ceramic art world. The Mervyn Gers Collective made a distinct impression at this years Design Indaba 2012 and will displaying dark-glazed, organic forms while Helen Vaughn's textual, earthenware vessels rhythmically reflect the natural world. David Walters will present his smoke-fired (a fascinating process!) porcelain bowls, Gemma Orkin, famous for her tactile and beautifully illustrated earthenware will feature tall, playful vases. Christo Giles will grace us with his celadon and shino glazed forms with feminine curves and oriental lines, while Michael and Anthea Methven will be exhibiting one of their incredible animal light sculptures, a springbok luminaire. Should be spectacular!
